So. Much. Wind.
Wow. Beautiful blue skies and just incredible winds blowing on the drive today!

As we head west we are gaining time due to the time zone shifts, so it’s making it a bit easier to get up earlier and get going. That said, we still didn’t quite get going until just before 9am.
We’re in the heart of the prairies now. There are farms as far as the eyes can see, and the eyes can see far out here. The canola is blooming so the landscape is regularly a brilliant yellow, which is quite the sight to see.
For lunch we broke out out Costco membership and made good use of their classic $1.50 hotdog and drink combo!

Dad has been trying to dial in his fuel mixture ratio today, which accidentally left it running too rich when we idled for a few minutes at Costco. So much so, that it started to sputter and stall out when Jeff and Phil took over after lunch.
A few tweaks and spark plug swaps later we were back humming along through the prairies.

The drive after the fix-up was pretty straight forward across the great province of Saskatchewan and right to the border town of Lloydminster. We pulled into the Home Hotel on the east side of the city and unloaded. Again, the building was buzzing with baseball players who were in town for a local tournament.
For dinner, Phil again managed to choose a restaurant that was closed, this time permanently! Jeff quickly suggested an alternative down the road, a Pho restaurant: Chopstix. What a gem!

Chopstix is actually located in the Canadian Legion building in downtown Lloydminster. It’s a really neat setup, having the Legion rent out the space to this establishment. It’s definitely not your normal restaurant setup, but the food was FANTASTIC. We had a mixture of pho, red curry soup, vegetable stir-fries, plus some fried and fresh spring rolls. This is definitely a place to go to if you’re in town.

We wrapped up the day by crossing back and forth over the Saskatchewan and Alberta border and then retired to the hotel for the evening.
