On the flip-side of the Moke Trip adventure, Jeff and the rest of the family out here had one day left before their flight back to Toronto.
Jeff visited “Well-Read Books“, which is a really big used book store in Whiteworse. He picked up a few interesting finds while there.
Jeff and the eldest nephew then went out to rent mountain bikes from Kanoe People in Whitehorse. Apparently they do more than Canoes! The two of them then hit the trails in and around Whitehorse, as there is an extensive trail network throughout the area. They headed over to Miles Canyon which is a fantastic viewing point, including a trip across the Miles Canyon suspension bridge!

The rest of the family headed out to checkout the salmon run, as the salmon are now starting to work their way inland to spawn. There is a fish ladder in the Whitehorse area that allows for the salmon to continue to work their way to their natural breeding grounds up-river. It was still a bit early in the season though to see the salmon in the area, as they were still further north of the city near Pelly at the time.
For dinner the family went to the attached restaurant to the hotel, Ricky’s. Reports are it received a three star rating (⭐⭐⭐). Jeff put his own meal together by grabbing a roast chicken and container of fresh strawberries from the local grocery store. Jeff rated his delicious and frugal meal four stars! (⭐⭐⭐⭐)
One last sleep in the Yukon, and then off to the airport in the morning with Jeff and the rest of the family crew!
