Heading out of Dawson City we were again on paved and somewhat familiar roads, and will complete the last section of repeat-road that we took on the way up.

The topographical map in this area is wild. You can clearly see why the road goes the way it does: it’s built along the lower lying areas, near where the rivers run.

The views here are always good, and are even better today because there is less smoke and drizzle than on our trip up last week. Even the construction zones are better: less muck and more of the work is complete!

The mountains to the left and the right of the roads makes for a great view, especially from a bunch of guys that are not used to mountain views. You feel like you will never grow tired of the awesomeness of mountains.

The Mokes are holding well, and seem really happy to be back cruising along on paved roads. Although they are getting impatient with all the people only driving the speed limit.

The one stop we are hoping to make along the way is back at Braeburn Lodge, with the massive cinnamon rolls. Most of us set our Google Maps to give us the distance and time to Braeburn, rather than Whitehorse.

After a quick stop to feast on cinnamon buns, we wrapped up the last hour of the trek back to Whitehorse. We stopped at Sheila’s house again to pick up the two tires we left there the week previous; we didn’t want to haul two additional spare tires to Tuk, when we already had 4 spares with us!
We checked into the hotel and then identified a Mexican restaurant, La Cara, as the dining spot for the evening. This was a good choice. The kids were not thrilled to start, but once they saw and tasted the tacos they changed their mind and wanted more! (⭐⭐⭐⭐)

Arriving back in Whitehorse brings us to another milestone in the journey. At this point we have family heading back home, and Jeff is also catching the same flight back. But Dad, Phil, and Tim are continuing on the journey to bring the Mokes back home. Tomorrow we say our farewells/see-you-soons and go our separate ways for two weeks.
