Another “rest” day for us, also known as a maintenance day for the Mokes and the Drivers. Today we took it a bit slower and explored the city and tuned up the Mokes!
This time we had Rotten Ronnies feed us in the morning. Coffee and Egg McMuffins for all! (⭐⭐⭐) Then a discussion about what needs to get done today.

First on the plan was to take a stroll down by the Yukon River that runs south to north up the east side of the city and then kept heading south along the boardwalk and enjoying the sights. We stopped for some fancy coffees at Baked Cafe, a really nice coffee house in Whitehorse.

While enjoying our coffee’s Tim got a call back from the one tire store that he had been unable to speak to yesterday. Lo and behold, this tire store actually had 4 tires of exactly the size we were looking for! Incredible!

We wrapped up our Whitehorse tour by browsing the Yukon Built store, a Whitehorse based clothing brand; Phil and Jeff grabbed a couple of items. We then worked our way back up north to the hotel, and Tim headed out to get the tire situation sorted out.

Later in the afternoon we headed over to the airport to greet our incoming family who were joining us for the trip up the Dempster. Mom came, so did Tim’s family.
As family settled into their hotel rooms for the night, Tim and Dad headed back out to Sheila’s to get the Green Moke’s oil change completed and fit the new tires on it too.
Finally, a trip out to Boston Pizza with everyone to wrap up the day. (⭐⭐⭐)

Following dinner, some rain moved through Whitehorse. This was probably good for the wildfires that are happening in the Yukon right now. But it also left a spectacular rainbow across the city.

Tomorrow we start the second major portion of the trip and head almost straight north to Dawson City, the epicentre of the Klondike Gold Rush!
